Good evening y’all and welcome to
shayorepublic.com where the art of consuming alcohol is fully explored and
explained in extremely vivid detail leaving little or nothing to the
imagination. Now today we are going to speak about a certain green bottle that
is spoken about a lot in Hollywood. It's of German origin and it is also a
digestif made with 56 herbs and spices at a strength of 35% alcohol by volume.
The name of this magnum opus is Jägermeister. The Jägermeister will have you
seeing sounds and smelling colors. Now since it's a digestif it is taken after
meals. A digestif is basically any alcoholic beverage served after a meal, to
aid digestion. When served after a coffee course, it could be called
"pousse-cafe". Hope no one is wondering if digestifs can go after a
meal of pounded yam with one mad soup but let me give you some examples of
digestifs as to kinda answer your question. lol.
·
Brandy (Cognac, Armagnac)
·
Eaux de vie (Schnaps, fruit
brandies)
·
Fortified wines (Sweet
Sherry. vermouth)
·
Liqueurs bitter or sweet (Jägermeister,
Irish Mist, Malort, Mirto etc)
·
Distilled liquor’s (Tequila,
Whisky)
oh so that's that, but in many countries people
drink alcoholic beverages at lunch and dinner. studies have found that when
food is eaten before drinking alcohol, alcohol absorption is reduced and the
rate at which alcohol is eliminated from the blood is increased. So if I drink
alcohol while eating I should use this idea when I want to open a buka. So I
take it from this that if I was to soak garri for instance (it is just an
example) would a shot of schnapps aid digestion? All these white people sef
didn't even consider us when they are making all these their deductions...chai.
Anyway back to the topic the Jägermeister consists of 56 herbs, fruits, roots
and spices, including citrus peel, licorice, anise, poppy seeds, saffron,
ginger, juniper berries and ginseng. Yeah I believe that’s the same ginseng
that chinko put in tea so it’s healthy. These ingredients are ground then
steeped in water and alcohol for 2-3 days. Afterward this mixture is filtered
and stored in oak barrels for about a year. After which the liqueur is filtered
again, then mixed with sugar, caramel and alcohol. Does this mean it’s healthy?
Now we know what we are drinking how do we drink it.

·
A Surfer on Acid is made
with equal parts of Jägermeister, Malibu Rum, and pineapple juice.
·
A Bob Dylan is a shot of Jägermeister
with Surge.
·
The Four Horsemen of the
Apocalypse is a shot made with equal parts Jägermeister, Rumple Minze,
Goldschlager and Bacardi 151
There are many other ways to maximize the Jaeger
experience. yeah I coined that word myself. so my fellow alcohol enthusiasts,
enjoy and have a drunken experience. Have a great weekend and don’t forget to
share this with your fellow shayo buddies. Peace!!!
